LIFE Poor Clares

The Poor Clares are cloistered and lead the life contemplative life of silence, prayer (2 hours each day of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament), penance, charity fellowship, and joy.

They recite the general office, getting up during the night for Matins, sleep on a pallet, and walk barefoot except in winter.

They work with their hands, live on alms and charity of the faithful.

Every day, fasting and abstinence except on Sundays and holy days of obligation.

TRAINING:

-Admission: 18 years minimum
Pre-Postulate and Novitiate
-Wishes: Sets with solemn vows
-Capuchin Fathers provide sacraments, counseling spiritual and doctrinal formation.

PROVISIONS:

Bone physical and nervous, good character, courage, obedience, simplicity.
